Curtain of Light was winning design for LG Hi-Macs design contest and was selected to be exhibited at Salone del Mobile, Italy in 2009

Hi-Macs, at 2007 – 2008, was new material for LG Hausys. It is acrylic based solid surface that is able to be easily thermoset into versatile shapes and carries compelling product properties such as anti-microbial, scratch resistance, seamless join, etc. Zaha Hadid used a lot of Hi-Macs material for her project due to its property.

Inspired from its thermo-formable capability, design intent is to form most light and fluidic form with solid material to bring visual and tactile paradox. Derived from forms from actual fabric, design is selected with half-translucent Hi-Macs material, Curtain of light proudly presents its existence as ceiling hung or floor standing light design. Embedded light from bottom or above lighting unit brings ambient light for the design and the interior around.
